断魂椒是印度东北部阿萨姆地区和孟加拉部分地区的种间杂交。它生长在印度阿萨姆，那加兰邦和曼尼普尔。爱尔兰世界纪录认证断魂椒为世界上最辣的辣椒，比塔巴斯科辣椒酱辣401.5倍。
